Reminder Valet is a free macOS menu-bar app that creates items in Apple Reminders from a sentence you type. It is made by Daelan Wood.

This policy describes what the app does with information on your Mac. Reminder Valet does not have an account system, does not run its own servers for the app, and does not sell your data.

What the app uses

Apple Reminders. When you capture a reminder, Reminder Valet asks macOS for access to Reminders and writes the reminder you requested (title, list, due date, repeat rule, priority, and notes such as links or hashtags). That data lives in Apple Reminders on your devices and, if you use iCloud, in Apple’s iCloud Reminders. Reminder Valet does not upload your reminders to a Reminder Valet server.

On-device language understanding. Parsing your sentence uses Apple Intelligence on your Mac (Apple’s on-device Foundation Models). Reminder Valet does not send your capture text to a Reminder Valet web service for parsing.

Settings on your Mac. The app stores preferences locally with standard macOS settings (for example: keyboard shortcut, default list, launch at login, whether example prompts are shown, and whether first-run onboarding is complete). Those preferences stay on your Mac.

Launch at login. If you turn this on, macOS may start Reminder Valet when you log in. That is a system login item you control in the app’s settings or in System Settings.

What the app does not do

The app’s privacy manifest declares that it does not track you and does not collect data types for us to process on our own servers.

Apple, iCloud, and the Mac App Store

macOS, Apple Intelligence, Apple Reminders, iCloud, and the Mac App Store are Apple products. Apple’s handling of that data is described in Apple’s privacy policy and in System Settings. If you sync Reminders with iCloud, Apple’s iCloud terms and privacy policy apply to that sync.

Website

The Reminder Valet marketing website is separate from the Mac app. If the website is only static pages (no accounts, no contact form that stores submissions on our servers), it does not collect personal information except what your browser or host may log by default (such as IP address in server logs). If you add analytics, a newsletter, or a contact form later, update this policy.

Children

Reminder Valet is a general-purpose utility. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
