A free menu bar utility for Mac
Reminders at the speed of a sentence.
Press Control-Command-R from any app, type what you need to remember, and hit Return. It’s in Apple Reminders before you’ve lost your train of thought.
Free · macOS 26 · Apple Silicon · Apple Intelligence
Faster than opening Reminders.
Open the app. Find the list. Click into the date picker. Choose a time. It still lands on the wrong date. That’s where reminders go to die. Reminder Valet takes the thought while it’s still in your head and puts it where it belongs, without pulling you out of what you’re doing.
Three steps. Then it gets out of the way.
-
⌃⌘R

Summon
Press Control-Command-R from any app, or click the icon in your menu bar. A single field appears.
-
Take out trash every Tuesday ↩
2
Type it
Type it the way you’d say it. Return saves, Escape dismisses. No fields, no menus.

Done
Reminder Valet shows exactly what it created right under your sentence: title, date, repeat and list. Made a mistake? Undo. Then the panel disappears.
One sentence in. A real reminder out.
What you type on the left. What lands in Apple Reminders on the right.
There’s no form.
No date picker, no list menu, no priority toggle. Write the sentence you’d put on a sticky note, and Reminder Valet fills in the fields Apple Reminders already has.
It understands more than a due date
- Dates and times
- “tomorrow at 9am,” “next Tuesday,” “Friday at noon,” “in 20 minutes.” A bare “4pm” means today, or tomorrow if 4pm has already passed.
- The right list
- “to Groceries”, “on Work”. If the list doesn’t exist yet, it asks before creating it.
- Several items at once
- “Add milk, eggs and bread to Groceries” becomes three reminders.
- Repeating
- “every day”, “every Tuesday”, “on the 1st of every month”, “yearly”.
- Priority
- “high priority”, “medium priority”, “low priority”.
- Links
- Paste a URL and it goes into the reminder’s notes, ready to open later.
- Hashtags
- Words like #movies are kept in the reminder’s notes.
- Set it and forget it
- Launch at login, choose your own shortcut and default list, and hide the example prompts once you’ve got the hang of it.
Private by design.
No account. No servers. No tracking. Your sentence is read by the Apple Intelligence model built into your Mac, and it never leaves your device. Your reminders sync to iPhone and iPad through iCloud, exactly as they always have.
Free. Really.
No ads, no in-app purchases, no subscription. I built Reminder Valet because I wanted a faster way to get thoughts into Apple Reminders, and I figured other people might too.
Questions
- Do I need Apple Intelligence?
- Yes. Reminder Valet uses the on-device Apple Intelligence model to understand what you type, so it needs to be turned on in System Settings under Apple Intelligence & Siri. If Apple Intelligence isn’t available on your Mac, in your region, or in your language, Reminder Valet won’t be able to read your sentences.
- Does it work on Intel Macs?
- No. Reminder Valet requires a Mac with Apple Silicon running macOS 26.
- What if it gets something wrong?
- Reminder Valet shows exactly what it created right after you press Return. If it’s not right, hit Undo and try again. You can also edit any reminder in Apple Reminders as usual.
- Will my reminders show up on my iPhone?
- Yes. Reminder Valet creates real Apple Reminders, so they sync to your iPhone, iPad and other devices through iCloud.
- Do hashtags become Reminders tags?
- Not currently. Words like #movies are kept in the reminder’s notes.
- Does Reminder Valet see my data?
- No. Everything happens on your Mac. There’s no account and no server for your reminders to be sent to.
